Our Radiology Technology Advanced Placement prepares students who wish to pursue entry-level positions as Radiology Technologists in hospitals, diagnostic centers, private physician practices, and clinicals. Our curriculum provides comprehensive, real-life training that is essential to be successful in diagnostic imaging.  We are proud to say that:

  • Those graduates of the course who hold associate degrees are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination in Radiography
  • We have partnerships with leading acute care facilities and diagnostic centers throughout our community that provide an excellent clinical training experience
  • Our didactic and clinical instructors have years of experience technologists and educators specifically in the field of radiology


  • Completed a Radiology Technology program that was not recognized by the ARRT
  • Became ineligible to take the ARRT registry examination in radiography due to three unsuccessful attempts within three years
  • Three-year time period expired for you to take the ARRT registry examination
  • You wish to participate in a comphrensive registry review in radiography for certification and/or state licensure examination


The Radiology Technology Advanced Placement offered by Med Academy is Recognized by The American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT). Graduates from this program will be eligible to take the ARRT MRI Board Examination.

  • Completed a program that was not accredited by an agency recognized by the ARRT
  • Became ineligible for the ARRT Radiography certification examination as a result of three unsuccessful attempts  within three years
  • ARRT examination application eligibility time expired

To be considered for advanced placement, candidates must:

  • Complete a Med Academy Application and pay application fee
  • Submit official transcripts from all academic institutions attended (high school, college, vocational-tech program)
  • Pass entrance exam with posted minimum score
  • If applying for financial aid assistance, attend an initial entrance counseling and provide required documentation

Once accepted advanced placement students will be expected to complete:

  • Take an initial  didactic assessment examination in all core MRI courses in the MRI course curriculum. This will be used to determine course placement
  • Complete all clinical competencies under the direct supervision of an approved clinical preceptor or clinical coordinator
  • Complete a minimum of 48 didactic credits which include essential ARRT registry content-specific components. Additional course may be required based on initial assessment score.
  • Pass a comprehensive final examination with 75%  or higher at the completion of all course work 

*Note: Advanced placement students must apply to the ARRT within 24 months of completing all coursework requirements at Med Academy
